Wednesday-weather-wilting...

good words but our word for today is WORDS. yes that is all we heard from Korey tda when he arrived home from school, yet he had a quieter day in school tda-he was noisy, yelling. yesterday for awhile and then settled down. not tda at home-everything bothered him-he was weepy tonight and whiny-and we couldn't figure out what the matter was or the problem or how he felt inside-we tried pictures and words and expressions-he was so frustrated and so we just kept going trying to find the word or words to help the situation. the communication part of autism is to us the most difficult area-the behaviors are really just a reaction to the inability to communicate-so we try to use all kinds of ways to communicate-most importantly we speak with Korey, we don't talk down to him, again it does back to the fact-Korey is a 15yr teenager FIRST, the autism is just part of him it is not who he is and that makes all the difference especially to Korey. surround your family in words, pictures, letters all and any-and see your child first not the disability...
